Scope of work

The work was basically to comprise of the following:

  • Construct plinth for GRP enclosure
  • To erect free standing purpose built mains cabinet including all necessary enabling works
  • Re-cabling work
  • To install additional hook ups

Schedule of works

  • Dig out trenching approx. 330m at a spades width that must be 800mm deep with flat bottom
  • Allow for the construction of plinth for new GRP enclosure
  • Allow for making all necessary excavations compact soil to reduce levels and supply and lay hard core base
  • Supply and lay 150mm deep MOT type 1 laid in two layers and well compact by mechanical means include for incorporating structural matting beneath as type geolay 609 or equivalent
  • Remove existing mains panel and replace with new free standing unit containing the following: -
  • 1 – 800amp MCCB mains isolator
  • 2 – 160 amp MCCB/RCD feeding existing 50mm x 4 core to d/u via 3 phase fuse carrier fused at 80amp and new 50mm x 4core to d/u 5 via 3 phase fuse carrier fused at 63amp
  • 3 – 250amp MCCB/RCD feeding existing jointed through 300mm x 4 core to d/u 3&4
  • 4 – 160amp MCCB/RCD feeding existing jointed through 185mm x 4 core to CCU.A+1 via 3 phase fuse carrier fused at 100amp
  • Remove incoming and outgoing 300mm x 4 core cable from d/u2 and joint straight through to d/u 3
  • Remove existing bollard d/u2a and replace with enclosure type d/u mounted on frame with cable shroud, joint and extend cable as required
  • Remove existing incoming and outgoing cable from d/u5 and joint straight through to d/u6 replace existing bollard d/u5 with enclosure type d/u mounted on frame with cable shroud install new 50mm x 4core from mains panel
  • Allow excavation to reduce levels for 20no new concrete service bollards plinths 250mm below ground level and 480mm long x 480mm wide
  • Install new 3 way /2 way bollard to rear of proposed new hard standing pitched x 20 and install 16mm 2 core cable from new d/u's to new bollards x 20
  • Upgrade all 10amp sockets to 16amp if not already
  • Check phase balance and adjust if required
  • Test and inspect the site
